VSECU employees donate $1,900 to Katrina Relief Fund
In just one day, employees of the Vermont State Employees Credit Union donated $1,900 to Froggy 100.9 radio station's collection for the Katrina Relief Fund.
In an early morning email on Friday, Sept. 2, employee Sherri Brickey challenged her fellow employees to open their hearts — and wallets — to help those in areas struck by Hurricane Katrina. When staff brought the $1,900 donation to Froggy at 4 pm, they were excited to learn that it was the largest donation thus far that day.
In another Katrina relief effort on Sept. 2, Mortgage Department staff collected non-perishable items, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, hand soap, hand sanitizers, batteries, flashlights, baby powder, band aids, and dog and cat food. These vital supplies were brought to the Vermont statehouse lawn drop site for the Vermont Emergency Management's State of Vermont Relief Initiative for Hurricane Katrina.
Katrina relief efforts will be ongoing, and your help is needed. Please check out the following websites for more information on how you can make a donation:
